Jesus Isn't Coming Back
Thankfully "Rapture Fever" is decreasing in America. The BIG MONEY has been made from all those books about the end of the world and fear of who might get "Left Behind". Of course there are many who believe in reincarnation to varying degrees. So, maybe Jesus has already returned. Maybe he's now here as Barack Obama or Sara Palin. Does a person have to retain their gender in a second visitation? 
If you want to rile the religious, bring up that "R" word: Reincarnation, not Rapture!
Jesus no longer is the physical Jesus, but the spiritual Christos and it was the desire of Jesus, the man, to have us FOLLOW HIM on the journey to becoming the fuller manifestation of the Christos. I am working on it, but I've got a long, long way to go. At least I know WHO it is that I am following and what the GOAL is for me.
The so-called Second-Coming has already come in the individualized package of you and I. What is yet to come is the universal Christ Consciousness, otherwise known as the Kingdom of God across multiple religious persuasions. No Bible believing, card carrying fundamentalist is going to agree with any of this NEW AGE talk. Yesterday, a Christian said that chakras were NEW AGE. I guess I really don't understand NEW AGE because chakras were understood and practiced thousands of years before Jesus ever appeared on earth.
Maybe they meant OLD AGE and not NEW AGE?
Now, while Jesus isn't coming back in the flesh and meeting us somewhere in the air, in the clouds, as those who interpret the Bible literally translate I Thes. 4:17. We will not see Jesus descend from the East like a modern-day Superman. But, consider this possibility.
What IF God is truly resting (metaphorical seventh day)? What IF God has given mankind DOMINION over the earth? And what IF God is only going to respond to our needs through we human here on earth? And should we not bring the ABOVE to this physical plane BELOW, will it ever get done at all? The Spirit, Comforter is here NOW and He-She-It dwells within each of us; but, unless we cooperate, as in being co-creators, we'll not see the world change any more than it has.
If we want to see the Kingdom COME, we must be open to the realization that EVIL (my definition) is simply misguided FREE WILL. God didn't create evil, nor pain. We have. And the GOOD NEWS is that we can change all that when we realize the spirit beings that we truly are. We can change life!
